Applications: It is used in the synthesis of ephedrine and propiophenone derivatives such as cathinone, and methcathinone.
It is an intermediate in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and organic compounds.
It can also be used in the synthesis of aryl alkenes, such as phenylpropanoids.
